My Story
Meet Randy Ojeda
I’ve always believed that music is more than just sound—it’s a livelihood, a legacy, and a business. My journey into music law began not in a courtroom, but in rehearsal spaces, recording studios, and small venues where I worked alongside artists who were chasing their dreams. I saw firsthand how talent alone wasn’t enough—artists needed someone in their corner who understood both the creative side of music and the legal complexities that come with it. That’s where I found my calling.
The Road to Music Law
Before founding Randy Ojeda Law, PLLC, I built my career at the intersection of law, music, and business. My legal foundation comes from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where I focused on Entertainment Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution. While pursuing my J.D., I gained invaluable experience working for firms like Neal & Leroy, LLC, and serving as a judicial intern at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania under the Honorable Eduardo C. Robreno.
But my path has never been confined to traditional legal roles. I spent years in the trenches of the music industry—signing and developing artists, negotiating distribution deals, and building careers from the ground up. At Symphonic Distribution, I helped artists and labels across the U.S. and Latin America navigate global distribution, monetization, and rights management. That hands-on industry experience continues to shape the way I approach my legal practice today
Building a Practice for Creatives
In 2021, I launched Randy Ojeda Law, PLLC with a simple mission: to simplify music law and empower creative professionals. My practice is designed to meet artists, producers, songwriters, managers, and music companies where they are—whether they’re signing their first recording agreement, protecting their intellectual property, or scaling their business.
I’ve drafted and negotiated everything from record deals and producer agreements to licensing contracts and live performance agreements. I also help clients with copyright and trademark filings, ownership disputes, and takedown requests. Beyond contracts, I advise on sync licensing, digital distribution, and corporate formation for entertainment startups.
To make legal services more accessible, I developed a subscription-based legal model tailored for independent artists and professionals. This allows my clients to have consistent, reliable counsel without the stress of unpredictable hourly billing.
Beyond the Practice
I’m also deeply passionate about education and community in the music industry. I regularly speak on panels, contribute to industry discussions, and host Cigar City Radio, a music interview podcast I co-founded to spotlight artists and give them a platform to tell their stories.
As a member of The Florida Bar, the RIAA Platinum Club, and a Grammy Professional Member, I stay connected to the ever-evolving music ecosystem. My work isn’t just about contracts and negotiations—it’s about building relationships, protecting legacies, and ensuring that artists can focus on what they do best: creating.
Music Law. Simplified.
At the heart of it all, my philosophy is simple: music law should work for artists, not against them. My clients know that I bring both legal expertise and industry experience to every deal, every filing, and every conversation.
This is more than a career for me—it’s my way of helping musicians and creatives thrive in a business that often feels stacked against them. Because when the legal side is handled with care and strategy, the music can shine without compromise
